Welcome to True Physician Care, the primary care practice of Erica Hwang, MD, FACP.

A highly respected internist in the DC Metropolitan area since 1997, Dr. Hwang is pleased to continue serving patients through her committed and compassionate practice of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Hwang combines the science and art of medicine in delivering thorough, attentive care to each of her patients.

Due to the amount of time she devotes to each patient, Dr. Hwang's practice is now closed to new patients. There is no active waitlist at this time. Dr. Hwang will honor prior requests to take on specific family members of her current patients, but can no longer accept additional family members as her practice is at capacity.

For Current Patients

Flu shots are available! You may schedule a nurse visit with Tanya or request the vaccine at your routine appointment. You may time your flu shot on the same day you get a COVID or other vaccine (at a local pharmacy), or try to space the vaccines at least 2 weeks apart.
 
Our office will be closed on Monday, September 2, for Labor Day.
 
Dr. Hwang will be out of the office and covered by Dr. Sue Kanter from Thursday, September 19 through Sunday, September 22.   You may reach Dr. Kanter through Tanya during regular business hours.  You may reach Dr. Kanter for urgent matters after hours by calling our office telephone number.
 
Dr. Hwang will be out of the office Tuesday, October 1 through Sunday, October 6. Dr. Kanter will cover Dr. Hwang from October 1-2 and October 5-6. Dr. Hwang will handle urgent/time-sensitive messages remotely on
October 3-4.
 
Dr. Hwang will be out of the office on Friday, October 25 and will handle urgent/time-sensitive messages remotely that day..

Tanya Alston has been working with Dr. Hwang as a medical assistant for much of Dr. Hwang’s medical career. Patients appreciate her warm personality, professionalism, patient-centered focus and adept technical skills.
